Islamabad: There is a possibility of an increase in the price of electricity by one rupee 82 paisa per unit.
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority under the chairmanship of Chairman NEPRA will hear the request for increase in electricity price. The request for increase in electricity price was made in the context of monthly fuel adjustment.
Last month, 15 billion 47 crore units of electricity were generated while the production cost of electricity was 131 billion 11 crore rupees. The most expensive electricity was generated from furnace oil. The production cost of electricity from furnace oil was 33 rupees 32 Paisa per unit.
Electricity was generated from LNG at RS23.71 Paisa per unit and electricity was imported from Iran at RS 25.9 Paisa per unit. Line losses were seen at 24 Paisa per unit of electricity.
